“Maybe the most spiritual Dub Event on Earth.”
Much more than a simple musical event, the Dub In Jah Garden festival is a unique spiritual experience in the world. The place, the site, the programming and the objectives of this festival promise and guarantee it.
Ethiopia, mystical land of all origins, cradle of the first civilizations, first Christian kingdom in the world, mentioned more than 77 times in the Bible, is considered by a large number of believers throughout the world as a holy land.
For us Rastafarians, Ethiopia is the promised land and every places where His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I resided is a sacred place.
Wondo genet is a valley in which several villages made up of different tribes coexist and this valley is located in the SIDAMU region. His Majesty particularly cherished the SIDAMU region and said that He had spent his most pleasant moments in Ethiopia there. So much so that his daughter had a house built there for the Emperor.
SOCIAL AIMS OF THE FESTIVAL
The purpose of any spiritual experience is not only to transcend reality but also to impact it, to transform it and to improve it.
This is why the Dub In Jah Garden festival also aims to bring improvements to the reality of the small village of Shebele in Wondo Genet where the House of His Imperial Majesty HAILÉ SELASSIÉ 1ST is located. Indeed since Covid, the tourist activities on which the small village of Shebele depends have struggled to restart and the inflation which is raging throughout the country due to the armed conflicts which are taking place in the northern part of Ethiopia is making the economic situation of the local population even more delicate.
