Ethiopia, mystical land of all origins, cradle of the first civilizations, first Christian kingdom in the world, mentioned more than 77 times in the Bible, is considered by a large number of believers throughout the world as a holy land.

For us Rastafarians, Ethiopia is the promised land and every places where His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I resided is a sacred place.

Wondo genet is a valley in which several villages made up of different tribes coexist and this valley is located in the SIDAMU region. His Majesty particularly cherished the SIDAMU region and said that He had spent his most pleasant moments in Ethiopia there. So much so that his daughter had a house built there for the Emperor.

WONDO GENET means:
“THE HEAVEN of MAN ”.

It was His Majesty Himself who named this place like that.

And it is in the Garden of the personal house of His Imperial Majesty HAILÉ SELASSIÉ the1st, in Wondo Genet that the Dub In Jah Garden festival will take place.

Dub music come from Reggae culture.

It is a positive and experimental music that evolved through talented artists who took the time to study scientificaly the effects of sound, vibration and frequencies in order to bring audiences into a meditative state, making them more receptive to the spiritual messages contained in the music.

His Imperial Majesty HAILÉ SELASSIÉ 1ST, let us remember, was crowned KING of Kings, LORD of Lords, conquering lion of the tribe of Judah in 1930, recognized by the Times Magazine as the man of the millennium and remains known in the history of the international community as the ultimate defender of world citizenship, justice and peace between peoples until the end of the darkest hours of history.

We invite you to come and participate in a moment of celebration and communion which will be part of the continuity of the movements for Peace.
Peace and Unity everywhere among all people around the world.
Peace and Unity in Ethiopia, in Africa, in the Middle East, in South and North America, in Eastern and Western Europe, in Asia, in Oceania.

Global and definitive Peace

Come dance and celebrate in the Spirit of RAS TAFARI so that HIS message of Love and Peace resonates and vibrates throughout the entire earth and throughout the universe.

Nyabinghi prayers and chants will open and bless the days of this festival.

Throughout this event, the food will be plant-based and the drinks will be non-alcoholic to ensure the harmony of good behavior and good energy and so that families feel welcome with their children. Moreover, there will also be a Kinder Garden to look after children so that parents can enjoy the festival.

This is why the Dub In Jah Garden festival also aims to bring improvements to the reality of the small village of Shebele in Wondo Genet where the House of His Imperial Majesty HAILÉ SELASSIÉ 1ST is located.

Indeed since Covid, the tourist activities on which the small village of Shebele depends have struggled to restart and the inflation which is raging throughout the country due to the armed conflicts which are taking place in the northern part of Ethiopia is making the economic situation of the local population even more delicate.

By creating an annual and international festival, we want to help visitors begin to flock to the town of Wondo Genet again.

We hope that this festival will serve as a showcase to promote the various assets of our wonderful little piece of Paradise such as its forest walks, waterfalls, hot water springs, monkeys, baboons, great monarchs, mandrils, warthogs, hyenas etc.

And this is also why we take the responsibility to raise awareness of the need to protect the Historical and Royal heritage of Wondo Genet which is the house of His Imperial Majesty HAILÉ SELASSIÉ 1ST and to renovate the hotel estate which was built around it.

Very admiring the work carried out at Fairfield house, the house of his Majesty in bath U.K, we would really like this Royal house of Wondo Genet to also become a place of rapprochement between the local Ethiopian populations and the Rastafarians and to make it turn as a tourist place beneficial to the local populations by Wondo Genet.

As Rastafarians, we see this as a wonderful opportunity to prove that the duty of remembrance towards His Imperial Majesty HAILÉ SELASSIÉ 1ST is a beneficial thing for everyone…

Far from big cities, Wondo Genet lived in a very traditional way until recently.

And at the same time as the first signs of modernization, plastic also suddenly arrived in people’s lives.

The global ecological situation speaks for itself regarding the need to fight against plastic. We hope with this festival to be able to start awareness, cleaning and recycling programs.

Solidarity is not only an aspect of our project, it is the very heart of our project. Hope for Ethiopia is a humanitarian organization founded by Rastafarians residing between Europe and Ethiopia. They help the most deprived people of Lalibella in a very effective way with a lot of love and professionalism.

Thousands of people had benefited from their diverse support since 2014.
Sponsorship provides shelter and basic food for over 400 needy people from Lalibela, mostly women and children from poor mountain farming families attend school.

To raise funds and act in favor of the most deprived, Hope for Ethiopia has set up a fundraiser in the form of a Sound System challenge. The different Sound Systems that participate promote the fundraiser during different events and then redistribute what they were able to collect.

After being very impressed by their work, we are now honored by the trust placed in us by this organization by accepting our invitation to collaborate on this project. Hope for Ethiopia offered to organize a fundraiser for us, to help us settle the financial aspect necessary for the organization of this festival.

Fortunately, as we are in Ethiopia, it will cost a lot less than a festival abroad, but there will still be some small costs.

The motto of Hope for Ethiopia is:
“No one can help everybody but every one can help someone.”

We are truly grateful to them for this wonderful contribution. The fundraiser is open to all…

If everyone puts in a little bit, we will be able to achieve all the objectives of this festival. And we thank you in advance for your solidarity, your generosity and your mobilization.

May the Grace and the Victory be manifested by you and for you continually.
